The 58th National Film Awards which were announced former times proved with the purpose of hardcore infomercial, masaledar movies are the flavours of the season. Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg’ and Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Ishqiya’ garnered attention at what time they bagged the prestigious awards.
On the other supply, like a relief from the granular movies, ‘Do Dooni Char’ was chosen as the Best Hindi Film.
While ‘Dabangg’ won the Award For Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, ‘Ishqiya’ bagged awards in three categories - Best Music Direction (Vishal Bhardwaj), Best Female Playback lead singer (Rekha Bhardwaj) and Best Audiography.
The Best Child Artist in Hindi went to Harsh Mayar meant for ‘I am Kalam’.
The Feature Films jury was headed by Shri J.P. Dutta, Non-Feature Films jury was headed by Shri A.K. Bir and Best Writing on Cinema jury was headed by Shri Ashok Vajpeyi.
